PhD in Prosthodontics

Our doctoral program, which was opened with the decision of the Executive Board of YÖK on 06.02.2020, in accordance with the 4th and 7th articles of the Organization and Operation Regulation of the Graduate Education Institutes, provides a PhD in Prosthetic Dentistry in theDepartment of Prosthetic Dentistry of the Institute of Health Sciences.

Program Purpose and Goals
To train professional physicians who can accurately diagnose and understand the prosthetic needs of patients and treat patients within this scope, taking into account function and aesthetics. Apart from conventional prosthetic treatment training, this program also includes providing treatment of patients with advanced techniques such as maxillofacial prosthesis, temporomandibular joint disorders and implantology, and providing training on this subject. An advanced prosthesis education is given through doctoral programs, and thanks to this education, different treatment alternatives are offered to patients and prosthetic treatments are carried out with a preventive approach.

Reason for Opening the Program
To train researchers who have sufficient scientific theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of Prosthetic Dentistry, who can plan and conduct a scientific research study on their own, who can reach a conclusion by interpreting the data obtained scientifically, and who can work in academic tasks.

Admission Requirements
Student applications to the doctoral program, entrance exams (written / interview), calculation of the general success score and placement of the students are made in accordance with Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Graduate Education and Exam Regulations.

Upgrade
Students who have completed the Prosthetic Dentistry Doctorate Program can continue their professional lives as academicians, and they can also apply for an associate professorship in the relevant field if they complete the necessary academic conditions.

Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate from the Prosthetic Dentistry Doctorate Program, the student must have completed all the courses in the program and must obtain the required minimum credits. In addition, the student must be successful in the doctoral qualification exam. The student who is successful in the proficiency exam is required to prepare his/her doctoral thesis in the field of Prosthetic Dentistry under the guidance of his/her advisor and present it successfully in front of the academic jury members.

Graduate Employment Opportunities
It provides the opportunity to work in hospitals affiliated to the Ministry of Health, private dental clinics and as a faculty member in foundation / state universities. Quantification and Consideration Assessment and evaluation are made through written/oral exams, term/project assignments, article/seminar presentations and clinical studies.
