Our institute was established under paragraph (c) of the additional article 9 of Law No. 3837, which came into force on July 11, 1992.
The purpose of the Institute is to conduct Master's and Doctoral education and training in the field of Health Sciences at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (ZBEÜ), in line with the objectives and principles of the Higher Education Law No. 2547, and within the framework of the provisions of the Regulation on the Organization and Functioning of Graduate Education Institutes and the Regulation on Graduate Education and Training.

According to paragraph (c) of Article 5 of the aforementioned Organization Regulation, the departments of the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Health Sciences, and School of Physical Education and Sports are considered departments of the Institute of Health Sciences in terms of graduate education and training.

Within the body of the Institute of Health Sciences, there are a total of 13 Departments offering 27 graduate programs, including 15 thesis-based Master's programs, 1 non-thesis Master's program, and 11 Doctoral programs.

As ZBEÜ Institute of Health Sciences, our aim is to educate future specialists and academics who possess knowledge, skills, and professional competencies at both national and international levels in the field of health sciences.
We also aim for our graduates to be problem-solvers, inquisitive, creative, productive, competitive, respectful of ethical and human values, socially developed, and committed to national values. Furthermore, we strive for them to become advocates of science, leaders and managers, team members, and consultants.

Our expectations from students are to acquire the above-mentioned competencies to the highest degree, to be equipped with high standards of knowledge, skills, and professionalism sought in their fields, and to be respectful and tolerant towards their instructors, peers, and everyone they interact with.
