Medical Nursing Department Master's Program

The Master's Program, which was opened by the decision of the Executive Board of YOK on 26.08.2020, provides masters education as the Medical Nursing Department in the Health Sciences Institute Nursing Department.

The purpose of the program
Medical Nursing Master’s program will be able to develop and deepen their knowledge in the field of medical nursing at the level of expertise, transform the theoretical and applied knowledge at the level of expertise into behavior, strengthen evidence-based nursing practices, as well as contribute to the protection and development of health, based on their undergraduate nursing qualifications. In addition, it aims to provide the student with knowledge and skills regarding the physiopathology, risk factors, prevention principles, diagnosis, treatment, care, patient education and rehabilitation of diseases seen in adulthood and old age, as well as the ability to solve questions that require expertise using scientific research methods.

Program qualification requirements and regulations
Students who have graduated from Nursing Faculties, Faculties of Health Sciences and High school of Health and meet the requirements for graduate education can apply to the program. There are compulsory and elective courses in the Medical Nursing Master’s program.

Duration of the program
Medical Nursing Master's Program consists of a total of four semesters, two semesters of which are course periods and two semesters of thesis period. If necessary, students enrolled in the program can be given an additional two semesters. In order for students in master's programs with thesis to proceed to the thesis stage, they must be successful in at least "60" ECTS credits compulsory and elective courses, excluding the field of specialization.

Qualification awarded
Those who successfully complete the master's program are awarded a Master's Degree in Medical Nursing.
